WHAT TO CONSIDER

EFFICIENCY

New central air systems have Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratings (SEER) from 13 to 21. Higher rated systems have larger outside coils to save energy and are often "staged" to run the system's compressor more efficiently.

PROPER SIZING

If you've improved windows or insulation throughout your home, any new central air conditioner you install should be re-sized for efficiency. Studies report that up to 80% of central air systems are oversized for the home. This leads to short on/off cycles, poor air circulation, inefficient use of electricity and the early demise of otherwise good equipment. HomeSmart always rechecks and calculates the proper size of your new equipment before installation.

AIR FLOW

Many older Colorado homes were never designed for central air conditioning. And even those that were may need modification in the air duct system to assure optimal air movement. We’ll check the air supply to the home and return ducts around your furnace to make sure they’re right for your equipment. If not, we’ll recommend modifications.

QUALITY CONTROL

Central ac systems depend on the air handler in your forced air furnace to achieve much of their efficiency and comfort. If we think a total system upgrade will help, we’ll give you the best options. And then back up your air conditioning installation with our 100% quality guarantee.
